POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS 2026-27

Welcome to the M.Sc. Program in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (PMBB) at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology. Our program offers a total of 25 seats, and students can secure admission through two distinct streams:
 
Stream 1: For those who qualify Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) - CUET (PG) 2026 – 15 seats
Stream 2: For those who qualify Graduate Aptitude Test - Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2026 - 10 seats
 
Admission to the M.Sc. program is based on a merit-based selection process aligned with the university's reservation policy. The number of seats may vary as per university rules. Supernumerary seats will be as per University of Delhi norms. Following are the seat matrix offerings for the new PG Academic Session 2026-27:

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with an aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent grade (for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category applicants) and 45% marks or equivalent grade (for SC/ST category applicants)
  • For Stream 1: Applicant must have qualified SCQP07(Botany) or SCQP17(Life Sciences) paper of CUET (PG) 2026
  • For Stream 2: Applicant must have qualified DBT GAT-B 2026

Spot Admission Round - 1

The Spot Admission Round-1 is initiated to fill vacant GAT-B seats for the two-year M.Sc. in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology program. All GAT-B 2026 qualified candidates who have completed their registration are eligible to participate. Interested candidates must select the SPOT ADMISSION ROUND-1 option from their candidate dashboard as per the schedule below (https://pgportal.uod.ac.in/gatb-login).

  • Registered applicants to OPT for Spot Round - I :  August 9, 2026 (11:59 PM)
  • Declaration of allocations for Spot Round - I :  August 10, 2026 (11:00 AM)
  • Candidates to “Accept” the Allocated seat :  August 10, till August 11, 2026 (2:00 PM)
  • Department to Verify and Approve the applications : August 10, 2026, till August 11, 2026 (4:00 PM)
  • Last date of PG Admission Fee payment : Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (11:59 PM)
